Statement

Wild Rose Farm is a wool producing, working sheep farm situated near Penn Cove on beautiful Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound area of Washington State.

Our maritime climate is the perfect environment for raising the heritage breeds of English Longwool sheep.

We have been raising sheep for over 25 years. The initial flock was Lincoln Longwools croseed with Romney and Border Leicesters.

Those early sheep had the most incredible fleeces, very lustrous and beautiful.

Although we still have descendants of the early flock, we have introduced registered Wensleydale, English Leicester Longwool, and Teeswater, finding them equally wonderful and more diverse.

These sheep thrive in our northwest coastal environment producing incredibly strong, beautiful and lustrous wool. The quality of the wool is a direct result of happy, healthy and well cared for sheep.

Colors range from white to silver, to shades of gray, charcoal, and brown to black.

We shear every to 8 to 10 months and have one lambing a year in the Spring. Lambing season is always an exciting and busy time on the farm.
